Jess Collett is a Sydney based actress originally from the UK, represented by Carolyn White Management
Jess began her training at Worcester Technology College studying Performing Arts. She then went on to Rose Bruford College to complete a BA (hons) in American Theatre Arts. This included a year at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where she learnt, amongst other things, that you can buy guns with your weekly groceries at the local Walmart…
After graduating she moved to London, where she worked on various productions of film, radio, TV, music video, corporate video & voice over as well as stage productions & rehearsed readings. She also took full advantage of the vast array of distractions that were on offer.
In January 2013 Jess moved to Sydney and refocussed. She continued to train at the Sydney Drama School studying Acting for the Camera with Gabriella Marselli-McGrail, as well as workshops with Tony Tilse and Peter Andrikidis. She has taken pole dancing lessons at Blush Dance School & surfing lessons in Bondi to add to her skill set (as well as cross them off her Bucket List!) Jess also attended Bobby Galinsky’s extremely inspiring Masterclass – “the producer’s perspective” in late September.
Sydney has given Jess the opportunity to be involved with a number of Kino Sydney projects, including their recent 32 hour filmmaking Kabaret, she played the love interest in an independent short film ‘Oz Road Movie’ by French filmmaker Gilles Charron and provided voices for an animation entitled ‘Suffragette Molly’ by Craig Gullen.
Recently she featured in an online ad for Toyota by Rotor Studios and she’s really excited to be cast as the lead, Charlie, in the short ‘No Way Home’ filming early December. She’s also working with a group of actors to write and produce their own film as well as writing & producing a couple of shorter pieces on her own, what a show-off!
Like a lot of actresses, Jess knows how to make a meal from a mouldy carrot, 1/2 a bag of frozen peas and a box of Cheerios.
